About the Series
The This Is Your Life TV show was a 30 minute reality series on NBC where an unsuspecting celebrity or an exceptional common citizen was brought to the television studios under some untrue pretext. They wouldn't realize what was happening until they were on camera and the show had begun. Then Ralph Edwards would tell them, "This is Your Life!" and start telling their life story. When the story included someone important from their past, that person would come out on the stage. Most of those people hadn't seen the "honoree" in years or even decades. Many participants would get very emotional (in a happy way) and viewers could be sure of an abundance of tears, usually including their own! It was a look at your favorite comedian, actor, politician, etc. as a human being instead of a celebrity.

Just watched the first segment in this series. It is so very
well done! Louis sounds like quite the rascal while growing
up. Great photo of him perched atop a plane during his
flying days.
